Easy Marketing in Corpus Christi

The Problem…

If your a business owner in Corpus Christi, you’ve probably either had someone reaching out to you or you’ve done research on your marketing. That’s great! However, as soon as you open that can of worms its just a rabbit hole of do this, do that, run an ad, pay money here, join my “group circle” for $150 a month. While I’m not saying ads, or even local groups don’t work. I do think there is a less painful and confusing way to get your products out there.

I’m coming at this as someone who started their business from nothing, not a penny in my pocket, just a skillset, ingenuity, and a whole lot of patience. I’ve tried quite a bit, I’ve tried Facebook ads I got some traction, but everything is still cold. So for all the traction there was there was 10x more “see you later” responses, or individuals who didn’t see the value in what I had to offer. That’s fine but that takes time as a man with a wife, and infant daughter that’s too valuable for me to spend just talking. I’ve seen others join group circles with local individuals, and lets just say I don’t see that person in business anymore. Networking is great, but you don’t need to pay to network with a group of people who are just trying to sell you THEIR product.

The Right Type of Networking

Now when we hear the word free or volunteer, especially in regards to our services… Oof, we probably cringe and want to walk away there. That makes sense, but look at it this way if you are offering a service, if you are starting from scratch, or your just a small business out there. Getting your name out there matters! Like it really matters. Here’s the thing though, generally I am not suggesting you offer your services willy-nilly to individuals all over. Instead, volunteer with non-profits, charities, find ways to network at local events and then offer your service in settings where they can be seen by so many people that you are suddenly getting warmer, and more tangible leads that are just coming out of your ears!

My biggest client at the time of writing this came from this exact method. While I won’t give numbers, I can tell you that the relationship I built from volunteering with this organization built trust and created a lasting relationship between my business and theirs. The best part is.. that there is still room for growth with them, and then I can simply recreate this process else where. Moreover, they actually help me find leads, because people are seeing the results of my output.

Another example, big name public speakers. They roam the country telling people their amazing advice, over and over, and each time they get more sales, more followers, more money. Ironically, its such a perfect model because its cyclical and they make money at every step. At that point it’s self sufficient, but for small businesses? Latch onto others and be giving and GENUINE, don’t be fake. Really the key here is to find ways to put yourself and your business out there. Social media is either a baby step process or the lottery, so keep playing it but don’t bet all your eggs on it.
