The Story Behind the Art
My wife and I visited a local garden one afternoon and ended up spending the better part of 30 minutes chasing butterflies with our camera. It was one of the first times we really spent together intentionally taking photos side by side, and honestly, these butterflies were incredibly difficult to catch the way I wanted.
This image actually went overlooked for quite some time. At first, I passed right by it. But after revisiting the photos a good deal of time later with a different eye and a higher level of skill, this one suddenly stood out to me in a completely different way. There was something quiet and special hidden inside the image that I had not noticed before — the softness, the light, the stillness of the moment.
What I love most about this piece is that it reminds me how sometimes the best things are not obvious at first glance. Sometimes they wait for you to slow down enough to really see them.
